Paris has some of Europe’s most mouthwatering restaurants and not just because of the food (though, of course, that a huge part of it). These Parisian restaurants are some of the very best spots in Paris to sit back, relax and enjoy some of the best views across this most picturesque of cities. Better still, there’s so much choice of offer that, regardless of budget, you’re bound to find that special place that suits you perfectly.
If you were anything like me and are planning a trip to Paris, you’ve already started to plan your adventure. This can only mean one thing – that every aspect of your trip (eating, sleeping, Museuming’ and sight seeing) will all revolve around making sure you never let the Eiffel Tower leave your line of sight.
Fortunately, there are many restaurants where you can keep one eye on your delicious food and the other transfixed upon the Eiffel Tower (along with other spectacular Parisian vistas) – so next time you’re in Paris, pop into one of these amazing restaurants for that brilliant combination of delicious French cuisine and stunning Parisian sights.
1.) Le Jules Verne
Lets get the most obvious out there straight away with Le Jules Verne, which sits happily within the Eiffel Tower itself. This classically French restaurant serves an envisioning menu that is produced from some of the best French ingredients. Expect prices to be much higher than other venues and a great place to dine and look across Paris.
2.) La Tour d’Argent
This historic restaurant offers its patrons a range of freshly produced and typically French cuisine in one of the most dramatic halls in all of Paris. Sip from some of their heritage and special edition wines from their cellar while enjoying one of their most famous roast duck dishes. Once again this restaurant is on the pricier end of the market, but with such an enchanting setting, spectacular view of the Seine and Cathédrale Notre Dame, La Tour d’Argent is the perfect place to celebrate that special occasion in style.
3.) Georges
Sit on their tranquil open terrace and soak up a full view of the Eiffel tower at sunset. Situated on top of the National Museum of Modern Art, Georges provides the opportune place to enjoy a vista of Paris. This cafe/restaurant is a popular haunt on weekends so expect larger crowds at sunset and lunch. If you want to keep costs lower, it’s great to to visit Georges for afternoon tea (or coffee, like a Parisian) 🙂
4.) Le Ciel de Paris
This place has an amazing view of the Eiffel Tower in a modern and plush setting. Remember to choose your seat carefully, as prices can vary depending on where you sit. The meals here may be pricey, but the combination of exceptional views and award winning food can’t be beat.
5.) 6 New York
Pick from their pantry of organic meats or sustainably caught fish, and let the talented chefs at 6 New York do the rest. From 6 New York you can gaze towards the Eiffel Tower while being served course after course of original, top notch meals. Although more expensive than most Parisian restaurants, 6 New York is well worth a visit.
6.) Victoria 1836
Located right next to the Arc de Triomphe, Victoria 1836 is a great place to enjoy a few drinks, and a mouth-watering, freshly prepared crab ravioli. Expect busy weekends and relatively high prices compared to other dining options.
7.) Kong
The impressive glass curved windows at Kong provide once of the most spectacular restaurants in the city. Kong is a great place to eat in winter, especially when it’s snowing outside. Sit back, relax and enjoy the views across Paris while the snow swirls all around you. Magical!
8.) Les Ombres
The rooftop of Les Ombres is directly in front of the Eiffel Tower. You’ll be hard pressed to say which is better: the amazing food you’re eating, or the majestic Eiffel Tower. Three-course meal start at 68 Euro, with one of their signature dishes being, ‘Roast guinea fowl, cream of celery and trumpets of death’ 🙂
9.) Le Perchoir
Fancy a lighter bite to eat in a friendly and cool atmosphere while enjoying the stunning Parisian sunset? Le Perchoir has one of the cities best rooftop bars and eateries that is as famed for its delicious cocktails, its roaring fire and wholesome food.
10.) Paris Picnic
Technically not a restaurant but a fine way to dine nonetheless. This is one of my favourite concepts and something that I hope comes to London very soon! Paris Picnic allows you to order a bespoke picnic online, at a certain time and to be dropped off to you at a particular Parisian location. Grab a good viewing spot at The Basilica of Sacré-Cœur and eat up some delicious brie, french bread, anchovies and olives while the sun sets! Bliss!
